Artist and Designer Heather Harrington

Heather is a passionate maker and creator who finds joy and inspiration in the beautiful outdoors of northern Michigan and incorporates that love into her work. Her paintings incorporate bright and vivid acrylic colors. Heather has a playful, expressive style that portrays the happiness she finds in the small details of life in her hometown of Traverse City. She also works with found items and treasures, such as shells and beach sand, and incorporates those into her abstract paintings.

Since launching Life and Whim in 2016, Heather has focused much of her energy on creating fun community events such as the Traverse City Fairy Trails, and Traverse City Street Pianos, and designing northern Michigan-inspired products. She believes that the act of creating cultivates community and happiness.
